I'm sure we could all admit that we live in a world that is in desperate need of some improvements. Politicians, celebrities, scholars, and influencers for example — often fight with each other over their various philosophies in a war of words — when not much has really changed. Humans run the world and created the conditions that we all live under, so humans then have the same capability to change the world for the better. To give them credit, taking action is an important step – and a proactive one at that – regardless of their individual “philosophy”, but what if maybe we’ve been going at it the wrong way? For starters, if the world was to be improved should that benefit as many people as possible or only certain groups of people? Because shouldn’t that be the point of positive change and a better world? Whom we want to actually help with that change should honestly form the basis of any thoughts or ideas tailored to the subject.
See if we want to impact the lives of as many people as possible, then everyone has to feel “a part” of the solution. As many people as possible need to buy in, to get the biggest impact. No person regardless of their status and amount of achievements in life should feel like they can’t contribute. Sure, we have great and brilliant minds in this world but we all can provide something valuable to the world. What we can provide to the very least – is how we show up in the world individually – because no matter your bank account or educational level, that's something controllable from your end. People at the bottom all the way until the top need to know that they have power, the power to change their own lives, the power to change their own communities, and we don’t need permission to do so.
What I’m getting at is that change starts within, that’s something I think is missing from the conversation. For instance, if you want to get a new bowl to eat your cereal with and have expired milk in the refrigerator, the milk is still expired regardless of if a new bowl has been purchased. Or in a fashion sense, if you have a dirty-stained shirt but then buy new pants and shoes, you still have a major problem. In essence, a key ingredient is missing; see when we work to change ourselves we become that change. We become that key ingredient that can look pretty sitting in the new bowl. We can become the new fresh outfit. We can’t expect anything to really last and be that impactful if we’ll still walk around the same people. Any change you wish to see in the world – here we believe you should become and embody it first. In many situations any thing reflected on the external is a representation of the internal. The world responds to that energy and effort, people respond and people eventually catch on. Positivity will always win, light will always win even when there is darkness it’s as simple as flipping a switch. Then comes the chain-effect, the people who get inspired from what they observe in others, the people who get inspired by those brave enough to stand out, those brave enough to embody change. Those pioneers and trailblazers are represented by the blue butterfly, they go first and blossom from the cocoon and the caterpillars follow soon after. The butterflies lead by example. They’ll want in too and a culture is created, a movement is established.
Everyone needs to become their “best self”, we all need to work on ourselves to ensure we’re putting out the best version of us that we can. We all need to emerge from our cocoons and transform into butterflies. We believe that version ultimately will always be aligned with what is best for the world. Think of the holiday christmas spirit and how infectious that becomes, you literally look crazy not reciprocating to the very least the same loving and kind energy. Well, why do we need to only wait for holidays or disastrous times for example to show up like that, could we not carry that energy year-round? That’s what the Change The World collection by us means, a mantra that we believe in and want to help others buy in as well. Culture is what sparks any meaningful change, when the culture switches the world has no choice but to adjust even when they don’t want to. With fashion, we’re going to do our best to leave our mark and help people look fly while on the journey to being their best selves. We want to make sure you look fly while you start on yourself, we’ll help you stay fly on that journey — fly like a butterfly that is. Now, let’s toast to changing the world. Spread your wings and fly.
